series of porcelain vessels
A site-specific installation displayed in an old post-German villa in the Karkonosze Mountains.
The project was realised during the Artistic Open-Air Symposium “Disappearing Sudetes Architecture” in Szklarska Poręba, Poland, in 2020.
Each porcelain vase-urn refers to the timeless nature of objects and the personal or collective stories they hold. The remaining elements of the installation originate from a three-hundred-year-old pre-war Sudetes house — regional relics of a bygone era. These objects, marked by the passage of time, carry traces of everyday life, memory, and disappearance.
The Karkonosze region, with its layered and complex identity, stands at the intersection of Polish and German histories. In this context, the themes of memory and oblivion become essential to understanding what it means to live on this land — a space where heritage and loss continuously intertwine.
