Touch of the air

Ceramic installation
The installation consists of eight raku-fired ceramic birds suspended on thin steel wires. Each bird, unique in its form and texture, captures a moment of movement, as if frozen in mid-flight.

The work symbolizes the freedom and vitality of nature surrounding human civilization — a reminder of the delicate balance between the natural world and the structures we build. The suspended birds suggest both fragility and strength, evoking a sense of harmony and coexistence. Through the use of the raku technique, with its unpredictable surface patterns and smoky glaze effects, the piece reflects the spontaneity and impermanence of life itself.

Ultimately, the installation invites viewers to pause and reflect on the idea of freedom — not only as a physical state, but as an inner condition of being in tune with nature and the present moment.
