Silver, Wood, and Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Jewellery
This series was created in response to the decline of the ceramic industry in Europe — a reflection on the loss of traditional craftsmanship and the transformation of cultural heritage into contemporary art forms.
The project began at Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Centre in Denmark and continued during an Art Residency at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in the USA in 2013. Each piece combines Royal Copenhagen porcelain with silver and wood. Through these materials, the work explores ideas of continuity and resilience — how fragments of a disappearing industry can be reimagined as intimate, wearable objects that carry both memory and renewal.
