Ceramic Sculpture
The raku-fired ceramic egg encloses a sculpted self-portrait, symbolising the inner creation of life — a quiet, hidden process of growth that must mature before it can emerge into the world as a manifestation of freedom.
The egg serves as both a vessel and a metaphor: a fragile shell that protects and conceals the forming self. Its raku surface, marked by unpredictable textures and smoky patterns, reflects the tension between vulnerability and strength, control and spontaneity.
As the form within strives to break through its protective boundaries, the sculpture speaks about transformation — the moment when inner potential takes visible shape. It becomes an allegory for the human journey of becoming: the courage to reveal oneself, to step into light, and to embrace the freedom that comes with self-realisation.
