Being between

Stained Glass and Printed Porcelain Lithophane Installation

This work refers to the series “The Way Into.” The printed lithophanes are set among archival images of the city of Belfast, creating a visual dialogue between memory, light, and material.

The story unfolds through the translucent layers of porcelain, revealing different impressions depending on the amount of light passing through the tiles. The subtle play between opacity and transparency evokes the fragility of memory and the shifting nature of perception.

By combining elements of stained glass and porcelain, the installation bridges two traditions of working with light — one rooted in architecture and the other in intimacy. It invites viewers to move around the piece, allowing changing light conditions to shape their own experience.
